1) What is the difference between E-Mount and G-Mount on the Trimco AP400 pulls?
E-Mount and G-Mount are the two mounting styles offered on the AP432, and they are separate template drawings from Trimco, so the prep in the door differs between them. Pick the mount first, then pull the matching AP400E or AP400G straight template before you drill. Getting the wrong one means the holes will not line up with the standoffs.
2) Will the Trimco AP432 work on a glass door, or only wood and metal?
All three. Trimco offers mounting options for metal, wood and glass doors across the AP400 ladder pulls, and the supplied fasteners are wood and machine screws. For a glass door you need the back-to-back arrangement with the correct glass thickness, so confirm the glass dimension the same way you would a door thickness.
3) Is the AP432 the same as the old Trimco 1160 or 1170 pull?
Yes. The AP400 Series ladder pulls were formerly the 1160/1170 Series, so an AP432 is the current designation when you are matching or extending existing Trimco pulls in a building. Match the diameter, end style, mount and finish on what is already installed and the new pull will read the same on the opening.
4) What is the closest alternative to the Trimco AP432 ladder pull if I need an offset pull instead of straight standoffs?
The AP432 is a 1-1/2 inch diameter ladder pull with straight standoffs and radius ends. For an offset standoff geometry in a comparable commercial pull, the ABH AB3330 is an offset round end pull offered with custom length options, and the ABH AB3310 is an offset flat end pull in a surface mount configuration. On the Ives side, the 8103HD is a heavy duty straight pull with a 1 inch round bar and through bolt mounting, and the 8102HD uses a 3/4 inch round bar with 1-1/2 inch clearance. Note that those are flat or square end profiles rather than the AP432's radius ends.
6) Which door pulls besides the Trimco AP432 are stated to be ADA compliant?
The AP432 ladder pull is listed as ADA compliant. Among other commercial pulls, the Ives 8145EZHD is a 45 degree offset door pull described as ADA compliant with heavy duty mounting hardware. If the ADA call-out has to appear on the submittal, those two are the ones carrying it explicitly.
7) What finishes are available on the Trimco AP432 ladder pull?
Thirteen finishes: bright and satin stainless (629, 630, plus 316P and 316S in 316-grade stainless), bright and satin brass (605, 606), blackened satin brass (609), bright and satin bronze (611, 612), oil rubbed bronze (613), dark oxidized satin bronze (613E), matte black (622) and satin aluminum (628). If you are matching existing hardware in a building, 630 satin stainless and 626-family chrome tones are the usual commercial match; the 316 stainless options are the ones to specify for coastal or high-humidity exteriors.
