1) Will the WAC Bistro 14 inch pendant work on 277V in a commercial building?
It will. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, and it is concealed inside the canopy, so the same part number works on a residential 120V circuit or a 277V commercial lighting circuit with no separate driver or transformer to order. The fixture is hardwired, not plug-in.
2) What dimmer works with the Bistro LED pendant, and will a standard incandescent dimmer cause flicker?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV), 0-10V, or TRIAC dimmer. A standard incandescent/magnetic wall dimmer is not what this driver is rated for and is where flicker and drop-out come from. The spec attribute lists the dimming as ELV, and the integrated LED dims smoothly and continuously on those control types.
3) Does the Bistro PD-20014 meet California Title 24 for a residential job?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what inspectors in California look for on a hardwired LED luminaire. It carries ETL and cETL listings for the US and Canada plus an IP44 ingress rating. It is not Energy Star rated and it is not an ADA compliant fixture, which matters if you are specifying it where projection into a walking path is restricted.
4) Is there a lamp to buy with the WAC Bistro pendant, and what happens when the LED fails?
Nothing to buy. The LED is integrated and included, rated 50,000 average hours, so there is no socket or replaceable lamp. That is the trade-off on integrated fixtures: no relamping for the life of the building in most applications, but when the LED or driver does go, the fixture is replaced rather than re-lamped. For MRO stock, plan on spare fixtures, not spare bulbs.
5) What size canopy does the Bistro pendant have, and will it cover a 4 inch octagon box?
The canopy is 5.5 inches in diameter, so it covers a standard 4 inch round or octagon ceiling box opening. The fixture itself is 14 inches across and 14 inches tall in clear cased glass on an aluminum canopy and hardware, and it mounts to the ceiling only, not sloped-only or wall.
6) Should I use the 14 inch Bistro pendant or the smaller size for a bar counter?
The Bistro collection comes in two single-pendant sizes plus a four-light multi-pendant. The 14 inch version, PD-20014, is the larger single: 14 inches in diameter and 14 inches tall, which reads as a feature fixture over a bar or island where you want visual weight and fewer drops. Go to the smaller single pendant where the counter is narrow or you want tighter spacing on a long run, and the four-light multi-pendant where one ceiling box has to serve a dining table.
7) What finish and color temperature does the 14 inch Bistro pendant come in?
One configuration: Aged Brass finish with 3000K warm white output, ordered as PD-20014-AB. The glass is clear cased. If a project needs a different correlated color temperature, WAC handles custom CCT as a special order rather than a stocked variant.
