WAC Lighting WAC-PD-20004 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Bistro multi-light pendant go on a 277V circuit in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, and it sits inside the canopy, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and on a 277V commercial lighting circuit with no separate transformer. It is a hardwired ceiling-mounted fixture, not plug-in.
2) What dimmer works with the Bistro LED chandelier?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV), 0-10V, or TRIAC dimmer for smooth continuous dimming. A standard incandescent-only dimmer is not the right control here; spec the ELV or TRIAC type when you order the wall device.
3) Can the WAC Bistro chandelier be installed on a covered porch or over a bathtub area?
It is damp location rated and IP44, so a covered exterior space like a porch or a loggia is acceptable, as is a bathroom. It is not wet-location rated, so skip direct-rain exposure.
4) How wide is the 4-light Bistro fixture, and how big is the ceiling canopy?
The fixture body measures 24 inches in width and 24 inches in height, with a stated product length of 45 inches. The canopy is 5.5 by 5.5 inches, which covers a standard 4 inch round ceiling box. Check your box location against the 45 inch spread before you set the J-box.
5) Do I need to buy bulbs for the WAC Bistro chandelier, and can they be replaced later?
No bulbs to buy. The LEDs are integrated into the fixture and included, rated at 50,000 average hours, so there is no lamp to relamp down the road. That is the trade-off: maintenance-free for the life of the fixture, but no socket to swap a lamp into.
6) How much light does the Bistro 4-light put out, and what color is it?
1,819 lumens total at 23 watts, in 3000K warm white with a flood distribution. That is accent and ambient level light over a table rather than a room's primary source, so plan on recessed or cove light alongside it in a larger dining space. Custom CCT is available by special order.
7) Does the WAC Bistro chandelier meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is Title 24 compliant and Title 20 listed, and it carries ETL and cETL certification for US and Canadian jobs. It is not Energy Star listed and it is not ADA compliant, which matters only for wall-mounted projection rules, not for a ceiling-hung pendant.
8) Should I use the 4-light Bistro or a single Bistro pendant over my island?
The 4-light multi-pendant version is built for dining tables, where one canopy feeds a 45 inch spread of four heads. Over a narrow island or a bar run, two or three of the single Bistro pendants on separate boxes gives you spacing control the multi-head cannot. Bistro comes in two single pendant sizes besides this 4-light configuration.
9) What finish does the Bistro 4-light LED chandelier come in?
Aged Brass, model PD-20004-AB, with an aluminum canopy and hardware and clear cased glass shades with a linear design in the glass. The 3000K color temperature is what ships standard.
