WAC Lighting WAC-PD-60944 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Divergence PD-60944 chandelier be hung on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
Yes. The Divergence LED chandelier mounts to the ceiling on cable suspension and is approved for slope ceiling mounting. The canopy measures 11.75 inches across, so confirm you have that much flat bearing area at the mounting point.
2) How high can the Divergence PD-60944 be hung, and can I shorten it on site?
Hanging height adjusts from 14 inches up to 181 inches overall, with 120 inches of supply wire. Height is set at the canopy using push pin connectors on the cable, so an electrician can shorten it during install without cutting and splicing power wire.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Divergence LED chandelier?
It needs an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer for smooth, continuous dimming. A standard incandescent or MLV dimmer is the wrong control here and will give you flicker or drop-out at the low end. The driver is integrated and concealed in the canopy, so there is no separate remote driver to locate.
4) Can I install the PD-60944 Divergence chandelier on a covered porch or in a bathroom?
It carries a damp location rating and an IP44 rating, so a covered exterior ceiling, a porch, or a bath area out of direct spray is acceptable. It is not rated wet, so do not hang it where rain or hose spray can reach it.
5) How much light does the Divergence chandelier put out and what color is it?
8550 lumens at 90W, 3000K warm white, with a flood distribution through a white composite diffuser. That is a lot of output for a single decorative fixture, enough to carry a large dining room, lobby, or stair volume without supplemental downlights. There are nine integrated LED elements and no lamps to buy.
6) Will the lamps ever need replacing in the WAC Divergence LED chandelier?
No. The LEDs are integrated and included, rated 50,000 average hours, so there is no relamping. Over a stairwell or a two-story lobby that matters, because a burned lamp means a lift. If the LED module or driver ever fails, the fixture comes down rather than the lamp.
7) Does the WAC Divergence chandelier meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is listed Title 24 compliant and Title 20 compliant, which is what a California spec job needs for a hardwired residential luminaire. It is cETLus listed. It is not Energy Star rated.
8) What finishes does the Divergence PD-60944 come in, and what is the body made of?
Two finishes: black (PD-60944-BK) and chrome (PD-60944-CH), both at 3000K. The body is extruded aluminum with a composite diffuser, so it is light for its size compared to a steel-and-glass fixture of similar span.
9) Is the Divergence chandelier hardwired, and what voltage?
Hardwired to a 120V ceiling outlet box, not plug-in. The 90W load is modest, but it must land on an ELV-compatible dimmed circuit to dim properly.
10) Can I get the Divergence chandelier in 2700K or 3500K instead of 3000K?
The stocked configuration is 3000K in black or chrome. WAC offers custom CCT on the Divergence by special order, so a different color temperature is a factory request rather than a shelf item.
