WAC Lighting WAC-FM-33723 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can the WAC Corso FM-33723 flush mount be installed on a wall as a sconce, or is it ceiling only?
The Corso FM-33723 can go on the ceiling or on a wall as a sconce. It mounts over a 4 inch junction box, which is where the driver sits, so the box has to be deep enough to take the driver on either orientation. Fixture diameter is 23.44 inches with a 5 inch depth off the surface, and the backplate measures 18.13 inches, so plan for that much flat mounting surface.
2) Will the WAC Corso FM-33723 LED flush mount work on 277V commercial power?
Yes. The Corso FM-33723 ships with a universal input driver covering 120V, 240V and 277V, so the same part number works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting branch circuits. It is hardwired, not plug-in.
3) What dimmer do I need for the WAC Corso FM-33723, and will a standard incandescent dimmer work?
No, a standard incandescent (leading edge / TRIAC) dimmer is not the right control. The Corso FM-33723 dims on an electronic low voltage (ELV) dimmer or a 0-10V control. Put the correct dimmer in before the fixture goes up, or you will get flicker and a short dimming range.
4) Can the Corso FM-33723 be used in a covered porch or a bathroom?
It is rated for damp locations and carries an IP44 rating, so a covered porch, a soffit, or a bathroom ceiling outside the shower spray zone are all fine. It is not rated for wet locations, so keep it out of direct rain or anywhere water will hit it.
5) Does the WAC Corso FM-33723 meet California Title 24 for a residential project?
Yes. The Corso FM-33723 is listed as both Title 24 and Title 20 compliant, and it is ETL and cETL listed for US and Canadian use. That combination is what a California permit set and a Canadian job both want to see.
6) How much light does the 34W WAC Corso flush mount actually put out, and what color is it?
2166 lumens from 34 watts at 3000K, a warm white. The beam is a flood distribution through a white acrylic diffuser, so it washes the ceiling plane evenly rather than throwing a spot. For a bedroom or a corridor one 23.44 inch unit covers the space; in an open living area plan on spacing several.
7) Can the LED be replaced in the WAC Corso FM-33723, or is the whole fixture disposable?
The LED is integrated, so there is no lamp to change and no socket. Nothing to order separately, the light source ships in the fixture. Rated average life is 50,000 hours, which is the number to use when you are budgeting relamp labor across a building: at that life you are replacing the fixture, not a bulb.
8) What finish and color temperature does the FM-33723 come in, and can I get a different Kelvin?
As ordered, FM-33723-AL is brushed aluminum with a 3000K warm white output, built from solid aluminum with a white polycarbonate diffuser. Other CCTs are handled as a special order from WAC rather than a stock option, so a standardized spec across a building should stay on 3000K.
