WAC Lighting WAC-PD-51030 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the WAC Atlas PD-51030 chandelier be hung on a sloped ceiling, and how low can it drop?
Sloped ceilings are fine. The Atlas PD-51030 hangs by rod from a round ceiling canopy and ships with 10 ft of wire, giving an overall hanging range of 55 inches minimum to 120 inches maximum, set with a push-pin locking mechanism at the canopy. Rods supplied are one 6 inch and three 12 inch.
2) What size opening does the 26 inch Atlas chandelier take up over a dining table?
The fixture body measures 26 inches wide by 30 inches long with an overall height of 31.63 inches, so it reads as a long horizontal form rather than a round chandelier. The ceiling canopy is 6.25 inches across, which is what has to cover the junction box.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Atlas PD-51030 LED pendant?
Use an ELV (electronic low voltage), TRIAC, or 0-10V dimmer. The 30W integrated LED driver sits in the canopy and dims smoothly and continuously on any of those three. A standard incandescent dimmer that is not TRIAC-rated for LED loads is not a supported control.
4) Will this WAC chandelier run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The Atlas PD-51030 uses a universal input driver rated 120V, 240V, or 277V, concealed in the canopy, so the same fixture works on residential 120V and commercial 277V circuits without a separate part number.
5) Can the Atlas PD-51030 go in a covered porch or a bathroom?
It carries a damp location rating with IP44, so covered outdoor areas like a porch soffit, and bathrooms outside the shower spray zone, are acceptable. It is not rated for wet locations with direct rain exposure.
6) How much light does the WAC Atlas 26 inch LED chandelier put out, and what color is it?
4500 lumens from 30W of integrated LED at 3500K, a neutral white that sits between warm residential 2700K and cool 4000K. The beam is a flood distribution through a white silicone diffuser, so it washes rather than spotlights. Custom CCT is available by special order.
7) Do I need to buy bulbs for the Atlas PD-51030, and can the LEDs be replaced later?
No bulbs to buy. The three light elements are integrated LED, included with the fixture, rated 50,000 average hours. There is no socket or lamp base, so plan on it as a sealed light source rather than a relampable fixture.
8) Does the WAC Atlas chandelier meet California Title 24 for a residential install?
Yes, it is listed as both Title 20 and Title 24 compliant, which is what California jobs need for permanently installed lighting. It is not Energy Star certified and is not ADA compliant, though ADA is a wall-fixture concern and this is a ceiling-hung pendant.
9) Is the Atlas PD-51030 hardwired or does it plug in?
Hardwired only. It mounts to a ceiling junction box under the 6.25 inch round canopy, with the driver housed inside that canopy, so an electrician terminates line voltage at the box. There is no cord and plug option.
10) Can the cubes on the Atlas pendant be turned after it is installed?
Each of the three illuminated cubes rotates independently. Line all three up the same way for a stacked 3D cube look, or angle them individually. That adjustment is made on the fixture, so the same part number covers every orientation.
11) What finish and materials does the PD-51030 Atlas chandelier use?
Black finish over an aluminum body, with white silicone diffusers over the light bars. Black is the finish offered, ordered as PD-51030-BK at 3500K.
