1) Can the WAC Pierce 7 inch mini pendant be installed in a covered porch or a bathroom?
The Pierce LED mini pendant is damp location rated and ETL/cETL listed, with an IP44 rating, so it works indoors or in covered exterior areas like a porch ceiling or soffit. Damp rated also covers a bathroom. It is not wet location rated, so keep it out of spots with direct rain or spray.
2) Will the Pierce pendant run on 277V in a commercial building?
Yes. The driver is universal input, 120V, 240V or 277V, and it is concealed inside the fixture, so the same part number works on residential 120V and on 277V commercial lighting circuits with no separate transformer or remote driver.
3) What dimmer works with the WAC Pierce LED pendant?
Use an electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmer. Those are the two control types the integrated LED driver accepts. A standard incandescent/forward-phase dimmer that is not TRIAC compatible, or a 0-10V control, is the wrong choice here and will give you flicker or no dimming.
4) How much cable comes with the Pierce mini pendant, and can I hang it over a tall stairwell?
It ships with cable suspension and 100 inches of wire, adjusted at the canopy through push pin connectors, so you can shorten it on site without cutting into the fixture. Longer lengths are a special order from WAC, so for a double-height stairwell confirm the drop you need before you commit.
5) Can this pendant be mounted on a sloped ceiling?
Yes, the Pierce is sloped ceiling compatible. It is a hardwired ceiling mount fixture with a 6.13 inch round canopy, so you need a standard 4 inch octagon or round ceiling box behind it and the canopy will cover it.
6) How bright is the 7 inch Pierce pendant, and how many do I need over a kitchen island?
Each pendant delivers 2500 lumens from 20.3W of integrated LED at 3000K, with a flood distribution and a CRI of 90. That is a lot of output for a 7 inch mini pendant, so two over a typical island is usually plenty and three suits a long island or bar run. Spacing is a design call, not a spec we publish.
7) Does the Pierce pendant meet California Title 24?
Yes, it is Title 24 and Title 20 compliant, which matters if you are permitting work in California. It is not Energy Star certified. For the record it is also listed ADA compliant.
