Cone LED 12V Deck and Patio Light 3000K

LED 12V deck and patio lights available in 3000K soft white or 2700K warm white and in round, triangle, and rectangular shapes that can conveniently tap into a 12V landscape lighting system. Factory sealed and IP66 rated for wet locations. Aluminum and brass quality construction is available for enhanced protection in coastal or marine grade environments. Magnetic (preferred) or Electronic Power supply is required.

1) Can the WAC 3021-30 cone deck light tie into an existing 12V landscape lighting run?
Yes. The 3021-30 cone light runs on 9-15V AC, 50/60Hz and taps directly into a 12V landscape lighting system. It draws 2.8W (4.6VA) per fixture, so you can budget the load against your transformer. A magnetic (preferred) or electronic 12V power supply is required, and WAC's stainless steel outdoor transformers are the recommended match: 9075-TRN-SS (75W), 9150-TRN-SS (150W), 9300-TRN-SS (300W), and 9600-TRN-SS (600W). Line voltage is not an option here.
2) Which finish of the WAC 3021-30 should I use on an oceanfront property?
Go with the Bronze on Brass version, 3021-30BBR. It is solid brass coated in bronze and is the finish WAC recommends for coastal and marine environments because of its resistance to corrosive elements. The Black, Bronze, and White options (3021-30BK, 3021-30BZ, 3021-30WT) are cast k-alloy aluminum, fine for normal exterior conditions but not the choice for salt air.
3) Is the WAC 3021 cone light rated to be sprayed down or sit in the rain?
It is factory sealed water tight and IP66 rated, which covers protection against high-pressure water jets as well as normal outdoor exposure. It is listed for wet locations under UL and cUL 1838. Hosing down a deck or a pressure-washed patio is within what it is built for.
4) What comes in the box with the WAC 3021-30, and what do I still have to buy?
Each fixture ships with a 3ft lead wire and two gel filled direct burial wire nuts, so the splice to your low voltage run is covered. What is not included is the power supply: a magnetic or electronic 12V transformer is required and sold separately. If you want to dim the run, you also need a magnetic low voltage dimmer.
5) Can the 3021-30 cone light be mounted on a vertical wall or riser instead of flat on a deck?
Yes, the cone fixture can be wall mounted in all orientations, so it works on stair risers, retaining walls, and post faces as well as horizontal deck surfaces. The translucent lens diffuses the output evenly, which keeps it from reading as a hot spot when it sits at eye level on a wall.
6) Will the 3021-30 dim, and what kind of dimmer does it need?
It dims smoothly and continuously down to 10 percent, but only with a magnetic low voltage dimmer paired with a magnetic transformer. That is also why WAC calls magnetic the preferred supply type. On an electronic power supply the fixture will run, but plan the dimming control around the magnetic combination.
7) How bright is the WAC 3021 deck light, and is 3000K or 2700K the right choice?
Output is up to 60 lumens at 2.8W with a CRI of 90, which is accent-level light for steps, rails, and pathways rather than area lighting. The 3021-30 is 3000K soft white; a 2700K warm white version of the same cone fixture is also made. Use 2700K to blend with incandescent or warm-toned exterior fixtures, 3000K where you want a slightly cleaner white that reads better against stone and gray decking.
8) Will the light output drop off at the far end of a long low voltage run?
The 3021 cone maintains constant lumen output against voltage drop, and its input window is 9-15V AC, so fixtures at the end of a longer run stay visually consistent with the ones near the transformer. That tolerance is useful on multi-fixture deck and patio runs where the tail end sags below 12V.
9) I need deck lights that match a square or triangular cutout, not a round one. Does WAC make the 3021 in other shapes?
The 3021 is the cone (round) fixture. WAC's 12V deck and patio LED line is also offered in triangle and rectangular shapes using the same 12V platform, so you can mix shapes across stair nosings, rail caps, and wall faces and still run them all off one landscape transformer.
10) How long will these last before a property manager has to re-lamp them?
Rated life on the 3021 cone light is 50,000 hours, and the LED is integral, so there is no lamp to replace. Combined with the factory sealed IP66 housing, it is built as a sealed unit for the life of the fixture rather than a serviceable lamp holder.
