1) Does the WAC Lighting T24-OD1-20 strip light run on line voltage or does it need a 24V power supply?
The T24-OD1-20 is a 24VDC strip light, so it has to be fed from a 24V DC power supply or landscape transformer. It will not run directly off 120V line voltage. Size the supply for the total run length you are feeding and keep the DC voltage drop in mind on long runs.
2) Can the WAC T24-OD1-20 strip light be used outside, or is it indoor only?
It is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, so the same part works for a cove or cabinet run inside and for an exterior soffit, step, or planter detail. It belongs to WAC's Landscape family.
3) What color temperatures does the WAC T24-OD1-20 come in, and which should I order to match existing fixtures?
Three color temperatures are offered: 2700K (T24-OD1-20-27), 3000K (T24-OD1-20-30), and 4000K (T24-OD1-20-40). For residential exteriors and warm architectural accents, 2700K is the warmest choice; 3000K is the common landscape and soffit standard; 4000K reads neutral white and is the one to pick for parking, service, or commercial entry areas. Order all strips on one elevation in the same CCT, since mixing is visible on a continuous run.
4) Can I put the WAC T24-OD1-20 24V strip on the same transformer as my other low-voltage landscape fixtures?
Only if that transformer puts out 24V DC. The T24-OD1-20 is a 24VDC product, and most landscape transformers in the field are 12V AC. Feeding a 24VDC strip from a 12V AC supply will not light it correctly and risks damage, so verify the output on the nameplate before tying it in.
5) Is the WAC T24-OD1-20 available in any finish other than black?
Black is the only finish offered across all three color temperatures of the T24-OD1-20. If the strip will be visible against a light-colored soffit or stone and you need the housing to disappear, plan on black or specify a different WAC product.
