WAC Lighting WAC-T24-OD1-40 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the WAC Lighting T24-OD1-40 strip light run on line voltage or does it need a low voltage supply?
It's a 24VDC strip light, so it needs a 24V DC power supply or driver ahead of it. You cannot land it on 120V line voltage directly. Size the supply to the total run length you plan to install and feed it from the switched or dimmed circuit.
2) Can the T24-OD1-40 LED strip be used outside, or is it an indoor-only tape light?
The T24-OD1-40 is rated for both indoor and outdoor use, so it can go on exterior soffits, coves and landscape features as well as interior cabinetry and cove details. It belongs to the WAC Landscape family.
3) What color temperatures does the WAC T24-OD1-40 strip light come in?
Three: 2700K (T24-OD1-40-27), 3000K (T24-OD1-40-30) and 4000K (T24-OD1-40-40). For residential exteriors and warm architectural coves, 2700K or 3000K keep the look consistent with typical warm-white fixtures; 4000K reads neutral and is the usual pick for commercial, garage and task areas. Order one temperature across a whole project so adjacent runs match.
4) I need one strip light product that works on both the interior coves and the exterior soffits of the same building. Can I standardize on this one?
Yes. Because the T24-OD1-40 is rated for indoor and outdoor use, you can run the same part number inside and out and keep one 24VDC platform, one color temperature and one spare-parts item instead of stocking separate indoor tape and exterior strip.
5) Is the WAC T24-OD1-40 strip available in any finish other than black?
Black is the only finish offered, across all three color temperatures. If the strip will be visible rather than tucked into a channel or cove, that matters for how it reads against the surface it's mounted to.
