1) Will the WAC Lighting Exterminator II LED1023 track head fit my existing H-track?
The Exterminator II LED1023 is built as an H track fixture, so it mounts to H-style (three-circuit H) track only. It won't drop onto J or L track profiles without the correct adapter. Electrically it runs on 120V line-voltage track at 22 watts per head.
2) Can I use this WAC track head outdoors or in a covered exterior soffit?
No. The Exterminator II LED1023 is a dry location, interior rated head. Covered porches, soffits, parking structures and anywhere subject to condensation need a damp or wet location listed fixture instead.
3) What do I have to specify when ordering the WAC LED1023 Exterminator II track head?
Four choices go on the order. Beam spread, 18 or 30 degrees. CRI, 85 or 90. Color temperature, 2700K, 3000K, 3500K or 4000K. Finish, black, brushed nickel or white. Get the beam and CCT right up front, since neither is field adjustable on an integrated LED head.
4) Will this WAC track head dim, and does it meet California Title 24?
It dims, and it is Title 24 compliant, which is what a spec writer on a California job needs. It also carries Energy Star and is ETL and cETL safety listed for use in the US and Canada.
5) Does the LED1023 track head come with track, or do I need to order that separately?
Head only. It is not a complete system, so the H track sections, connectors, feeds and end caps are all separate line items on the order. Plan the run and the connector count before you buy heads.
6) 18 degree or 30 degree beam on the Exterminator II head, which do I want?
Go 18 degrees for tight accenting, a single piece of art, a sculpture, a merchandise feature from a high ceiling. Go 30 degrees when you want the pool of light to cover a wider display or wash a retail run with fewer heads. Output is 1690 lumens either way, so the narrower beam simply concentrates the same light.
7) Is the lamp in the WAC LED1023 replaceable, or is the whole head disposable when it fails?
The light source is an integrated LED module, not a socketed lamp, so there is no bulb to swap. It ships with the LED included and is rated 100,000 average hours, which is why these are specified as a fit-and-forget head on retail and gallery track.
8) What color temperature should I order to match the rest of my store's track lighting?
Four CCTs are offered on the Exterminator II: 2700K for a warm residential or hospitality look, 3000K for the common retail warm white, 3500K for a neutral commercial feel, and 4000K where you want crisp white. If you are adding heads to an existing run, match the CCT of what is already up there, and pick the 90 CRI option where color accuracy on merchandise or artwork matters; the 85 CRI version is the standard build.
9) What is the housing made of and what is over the LED?
Aluminum body with a clear glass lens over the LED. Aluminum helps pull heat off the module, and the clear lens keeps the beam crisp rather than diffusing it, which is what you want out of a 30 degree or 18 degree accent head.
10) Is the WAC Exterminator II head ADA compliant for a corridor?
No, it is not ADA compliant, but that rarely matters here. It is a ceiling-mounted track head, not a wall fixture, so the 4 inch protrusion limit ADA applies to wall-mounted items between 27 and 80 inches above the floor generally isn't in play. If your spec calls out ADA on a wall-mounted accent, this is not the part.
