WAC Lighting WAC-WL-LED310-AM – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Does the WAC LEDme WL-LED310-AM step light need a transformer or low voltage wiring?
No. The WL-LED310-AM is a 120V line voltage step and wall light, so it wires directly to a standard 120V branch circuit with no low voltage transformer or remote driver in the run. That makes it simpler for a retrofit where you already have 120V at the stair wall, as opposed to a 12V landscape fixture that needs a transformer ahead of it.
2) If I need white light instead of amber for my stair lighting, is WL-LED310-AM the right part number?
No. WL-LED310-AM is the amber unit only, and all three finish variants (BN, BZ, WT) carry the amber suffix. If the spec on your drawing calls for a white color temperature, order the corresponding white-output version of the WL-LED310 round step light instead of the -AM part number.
3) What finishes does the WAC Lighting WL-LED310-AM round step light come in?
The LEDme WL-LED310-AM round step and wall light is offered in three finishes: brushed nickel (WL-LED310-AM-BN), bronze on aluminum (WL-LED310-AM-BZ), and white on aluminum (WL-LED310-AM-WT). All three are the amber output version, so you can mix finishes across a stairway or corridor and keep the light color identical.
4) What is the amber version of the WL-LED310 step light used for?
The amber LEDme WL-LED310-AM puts out a warm amber light rather than a white color temperature. Property managers and hospitality buyers specify amber for stair risers, pathways, and theater or guest-corridor steps where the goal is marking the edge of a tread without a bright white wash, and it is also the version commonly chosen where coastal turtle-friendly or dark-sky style amber lighting is preferred.
5) Is the WAC WL-LED310-AM rated for outdoor step and wall mounting?
It is a WAC Landscape family step light, built for outdoor step and wall locations such as stair risers, exterior entries, and retaining walls. Mount it in the wall adjacent to the tread so the light washes down across the step rather than into the eye of someone coming up.
