1) Will the Lotos R 4 inch downlight fit in a shallow ceiling with limited plenum space?
Plenum clearance is the deciding number here: the Lotos R needs as little as 4.5 inches. It's a canless wafer design with a remote driver, so there's no big housing to clear joists or ductwork. That's what makes it workable in retrofit ceilings where a standard can won't go.
2) Can I put this WAC Lotos R downlight in a sloped ceiling?
Yes, that's the case for the adjustable version. The gimbal ring pivots 360 degrees on a hinge, so you can aim the beam plumb out of a sloped ceiling, or use it for accent lighting and wall washing. The fixed version of Lotos R won't do that.
3) Do I have to order separate fixtures for different color temperatures?
No. The Lotos R 4 inch adjustable is 5-CCT switchable at the fixture between 2700K, 3000K, 3500K, 4000K and 5000K. One part number covers all five, so a property manager can stock a single item and set warm 2700K in residential units and 4000K or 5000K in back-of-house or garage areas.
4) Will this WAC downlight work on 277 volt commercial power?
Input is 120 to 277 VAC, 50/60Hz, so it runs on both residential 120V and 277V commercial branch circuits without a separate part number. The driver is included in the kit.
5) Can this recessed light be installed in direct contact with insulation?

7) Is the Lotos R bright enough to replace a recessed can with a 65W BR30?
Delivered lumens run up to 775 at 9W, with CBCP up to 750 and 90 CRI. That output covers general ambient lighting in a residential or light commercial room, and the high CBCP plus the aiming gimbal makes it usable as an accent or wall wash where a flat downlight wouldn't be.
8) Can I use these in new construction, or is the Lotos R remodel only?
Both. The kit installs as a remodel unit straight into a cut hole, and for new construction there's an optional frame-in kit, sold separately, that lets the electrician pre-wire and set location before the drywall goes up. Order the frame-in kits separately if you want rough-in on a new build.
