WAC Lighting LTK-188-WT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the WAC Lighting TK-188 track head fit my existing track, or does it need a specific type?
The TK-188 is an L Track fixture running on 120V line voltage track. It mounts to WAC L-series track only. If your ceiling runs H, J, or a low-voltage monorail system, this head will not seat or make contact, and you need a head built for that track type instead.
2) Can I put the TK-188 track head in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry locations and indoor use only. A covered walkway, open porch, or a shower-adjacent ceiling needs a damp- or wet-rated fixture; use this one in conditioned interior space such as retail, gallery, or office ceilings.
3) Does the WAC TK-188 meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements for a commercial job?
Yes on both. The TK-188 is listed as Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, and it is ADA compliant. It carries UL and cUL certification for US and Canadian installs. It is not Energy Star rated, so if your spec calls for Energy Star specifically, this head does not satisfy that line item.
4) Will the TK-188 head dim on my existing wall dimmer?
Dimming works on electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmers. Since the head itself is lamp-based, dimming performance also depends on the PAR20 lamp you install, so pick a lamp marked dimmable and matched to an ELV or TRIAC control. Standard magnetic low-voltage dimmers are the wrong control type here.
5) Is the TK-188 a line voltage head or does it need a transformer?
Line voltage, 120V, so no transformer or remote driver is required. It feeds directly off the L track's 120V circuit. If your existing system is 12V low voltage with a transformer at the feed, this head is not a drop-in for it.
6) What finish does the WAC TK-188 come in if I need the heads to match the rest of my track run?
White is the finish offered, ordered as LTK-188-WT. For a uniform run, pair it with white L track and white connectors; a black or brushed nickel head on the same run will read as a mismatch from the floor.
7) Is the TK-188 head itself hardwired, or does it just plug into the track?
The head connects into the track rather than being hardwired at a junction box, so you can add, remove, or reposition heads along an energized L track run without an electrician pulling wire. The track run itself still needs its own power feed.
