WAC Lighting LTK-738-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Will the WAC Lighting TK-738 track head fit my existing track, or do I need a specific track type?
The TK-738 is built for H-track, the three-circuit H-style system, and it runs on 120V line voltage. If your ceiling runs J-track or L-track, this head will not seat in it without the matching adapter for that system.
2) Can I use this track head in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. The TK-738 is rated for dry locations and indoor use only. A covered walkway, a shower area, or anywhere subject to condensation needs a damp or wet rated head instead.
3) Does the WAC TK-738 meet California Title 24 and ADA requirements for a commercial job?
It is listed as Title 24 compliant and CEC listed, and flagged ADA compliant. It carries UL and cUL certification for US and Canadian work. It is not Energy Star rated.
4) Can I dim this WAC track head?
Dimming works on ELV and TRIAC controls. Match the dimmer to the lamp you install, since the head itself has no driver and a PAR38 LED retrofit lamp has to be rated for the dimmer you pair it with.
5) How much clearance do I need below the track for the TK-738 head?
Allow about 9-1/4 inches of drop. The head measures 9.25 inches high, 5.5 inches wide and 5.5 inches in diameter, with a 6.5 inch length. In a retail or gallery space with low ceilings, that projection is the number to check against sightlines and door swings.
6) Is the TK-738 hardwired into the ceiling or does it plug into the track?
It is a plug-in head, meaning it drops into the energized track rather than being wired to a junction box. Power and switching come from the track circuit itself, so heads can be added, moved, or re-aimed along the run without an electrician pulling new wire.
7) What finishes does the TK-738 track head come in, and can I match heads across a building?
Two finishes: black (LTK-738-BK) and white (LTK-738-WT). For a property manager standardizing corridors or units, order one finish across the whole run and the heads will match head to head on any H-track.
