1) Will the WAC JTK-738 track head fit an H-type track?
Yes. The JTK-738 is built as an H track fixture, so it drops into WAC H-system (three-circuit H-style) track. It will not seat in J or L style track extrusions, so confirm which system is already on the ceiling before ordering.
2) Is this a line voltage head or do I need a transformer?
Line voltage, 120V. No remote transformer or driver is needed, so it wires straight onto a standard 120V H track run. If your track is a 12V low voltage system, this head is the wrong type.
3) Can I put the JTK-738 track head in a covered exterior walkway or a bathroom?
No. It is rated for dry locations and indoor use only, so keep it out of damp or wet areas like covered patios, open breezeways, and shower or tub zones. For those spots you need a damp- or wet-location-listed fixture.
4) Does the WAC TK-738 track head meet California Title 24 for a commercial retail job?
It is CEC listed and Title 24 compliant, which is what a California spec or permit set generally asks for on track lighting. It also carries UL and cUL listings for US and Canadian installs.
5) Will the JTK-738 dim on my existing wall dimmer?
Dimming is supported with electronic low voltage (ELV) or TRIAC dimmers. Since the head itself is just a lamp holder, actual dimming performance depends on the PAR38 lamp you install, so pair a dimmable lamp with the ELV or TRIAC control.
6) How much room do I need below the ceiling for this PAR38 track head?
Allow about 9.25 inches of height for the head once it is on the track, with a 5.5 inch diameter shade body and a 6.5 inch length. In low-ceiling spaces or anywhere with shelving or display cases close to the ceiling, check that clearance against the aiming range you need.
7) What finishes does the JTK-738 come in, and will they match the rest of my track heads?
Two finishes: black (JTK-738-BK) and white (JTK-738-WT). For a fleet of retail or gallery heads on one run, order all heads in the same finish, and match the track and connectors to it since those are sold separately.
