Modern Forms FH-D2402-28L-BK – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the Modern Forms Veloce FH-D2402 fandelier be installed on a covered patio or porch?
Yes, the Veloce FH-D2402 carries a Damp location rating, so it works on covered porches, patios and screened rooms where it sees humidity and splash but not direct rain or driving weather. For a fully exposed location you need a Wet rated fan instead. Safety listings on it are UL, cUL, ETL, cETL and CSA.
2) Do I need to order a wall control with the Veloce FH-D2402, and does it work with a standard fan speed switch?
A Bluetooth handheld remote ships with the fandelier; a wall control does not. Speed, dimming and color temperature are handled through that remote or the Modern Forms app, not through a conventional wall fan-speed switch. Wire it to a constant 120V feed and leave any existing fan speed controller or dimmer out of the circuit.
3) Can I change the light color temperature on the Veloce fandelier after it is installed?
Yes. The integrated LED luminaire is CCT selectable across 2700K, 3000K, 4000K and 5000K, so you can match it to the other fixtures in the room without swapping anything. It puts out 2688 lumens at 90 CRI with a flood distribution and is fully dimmable.
4) Can the bulb be replaced in the Modern Forms Veloce, or is the LED integrated?
There is no socket or lamp to change. The light source is an integrated LED module rated for 50,000 hours, so relamping is not part of the maintenance plan for this fan. Plan around the module rather than a bulb stocking program.
5) What finishes does the Veloce FH-D2402 fandelier come in for matching other fixtures?
Three finishes: Aged Brass, Black and Titanium. If you are standardizing a building or matching existing trim, those are the choices, and the blade finish follows the fan finish rather than being specified separately.
6) Does the Modern Forms Veloce work with Alexa or Google Assistant?
Yes. It runs on the free Modern Forms app and pairs with Google Assistant, Alexa and SmartThings, alongside the included Bluetooth remote. That covers fan speed and light control from voice or phone in a smart home or short-term rental setup.
7) Is the Veloce fandelier Energy Star or ADA compliant?
Neither. The FH-D2402 is not Energy Star qualified and it is not ADA compliant, which is worth knowing if you are writing it into a spec for a government, healthcare or education project with those requirements attached. It does carry UL, cUL, ETL, cETL and CSA listings.
8) What is the total power draw of the FH-D2402 fandelier for load calculations?
Total wattage is 36W at 120V, with the LED luminaire accounting for 28W of that. A DC motor fan like this one draws far less than a comparable AC fan, which matters when you are loading a branch circuit with several units.
9) Are ABS fan blades durable enough for a rental or high-traffic property?
ABS is the blade material here, and it resists warping in humid conditions better than plywood or MDF blades, which is part of why the fan carries a damp rating. The three blades come factory balanced, so you are not chasing wobble after install on a unit turnover.
