1) Can the Odyssey 52 inch smart fan be installed on a sloped or vaulted ceiling?
No. The Odyssey F-035L is not sloped ceiling compatible. It is a flush mount design with a fixed 8.2 inch canopy and no downrod, so it needs a flat, level ceiling. For an angled ceiling you need a fan that accepts a downrod and a sloped canopy adapter.
2) Can I put this WAC fan on a covered porch or patio?
The Odyssey F-035L is rated for indoor or outdoor use at a damp location. That covers a covered porch, a screened lanai, or a breezeway where it stays out of direct rain and spray. It is not a wet location fan, so do not hang it in an open, exposed spot. Plywood blades and a steel base are what you are working with, which is another reason to keep it under cover.
3) Does the WAC Odyssey F-035L come with the light and the remote, or do I have to order those separately?
Both are in the box. The Odyssey ships with its integrated LED light kit installed and a remote included, so there is no separate light kit or control to add to the order. The one thing not included is a blank cap, so if you plan to run the fan without the light you would need that piece separately.
4) What kind of dimmer and wiring does the Odyssey smart fan need?
It runs on standard 120V line voltage and draws 55.5W total. The LED light is dimmable and the fan uses a DC motor with 6 speeds, controlled by the included remote rather than by a wall dimmer. Do not put the fan circuit on a wall dimmer; feed it a switched 120V circuit and control speed and light level from the remote or app. Factory lead wire is 32 inches, which is plenty for a standard ceiling box.
5) Does this WAC ceiling fan meet California Title 24 and Title 20 for a new build?
Yes on both. The Odyssey F-035L is listed as Title 24 JA8-2016 CEC compliant and Title 20 compliant, and it is Energy Star rated. It also carries ETL, cETL, UL, cUL and CSA Canada certification, and it is ADA compliant. The motor is reversible, so you can run it in reverse for winter downdraft circulation. The blades themselves are not reversible, meaning there is no second finish on the back side. There are 5 blades, each 21.3 inches long, and you pick the look up front by finish: brushed nickel, matte black, or matte white.
