Wiremold 4FFATC15BK – Frequently Asked Questions

1) What size opening do I need for the Wiremold 4FFATC15BK flush furniture feed assembly?
The 4FFATC15BK assembly measures 8 x 16 x 8 inches, so plan the cutout and the clear space below the work surface around that footprint. The 8 by 8 face is what sits flush at the surface; the 16 inch figure is the remaining dimension you need clearance for. Lay it out before the furniture goes in, since a feed this size will not drop into a hole cut for a standard single-gang grommet.
2) What part number do I order for the black Wiremold flush furniture feed, 8 by 16?
Order Wiremold 4FFATC15BK. The BK suffix on the end is the black finish; the base assembly is the 4FFATC15. It is a single configuration, so there is no separate finish or size to specify when you place the order.
3) What is the Wiremold flush furniture feed poke-thru assembly actually used for?
It is a flush-mounted feed that brings power and data up through a work surface or furniture panel, so the connections sit level with the surface instead of hanging off an edge. Typical placements are conference tables, workstation clusters, executive desks, reception counters, and training rooms. If you need a device that mounts on top of the surface or clamps to the edge, this is not that part.
4) Is the Wiremold 4FFATC15BK metal or plastic?
Steel throughout, in a black finish. That matters where the feed is in a high-traffic space and gets bumped by chairs, carts, or cleaning equipment, and it is why the unit weighs 6 pounds. A plastic grommet body in the same spot is the part that cracks first.
5) How much space does the Wiremold flush furniture feed take up under the table?
Roughly 1,024 cubic inches of enclosed volume, from the 8 by 16 by 8 inch body. Check that against your table apron, drawer boxes, cable trough, and any knee clearance you have to hold before you commit to a location, because the assembly occupies that space for its full depth, not just at the surface.
6) Will the black Wiremold furniture feed match the rest of the devices in an office fit-out?
The finish is black, which is the usual pick when the furniture is dark laminate or the table edges and trim are black. If the rest of the openings in the building are being fed with a different color, this one comes in black only, so a mixed run will not match at the surface.
