Wiremold AMDTP-4 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What ceiling height does the Wiremold AMDTP-4 tele-power pole fit?
The AMDTP-4 pole is 125 inches tall, so it is built for floor-to-ceiling runs in spaces with roughly 10-foot ceilings. Measure slab-to-finished-ceiling before ordering: if your ceiling is significantly lower or higher than that, this length is the wrong one for the opening.
2) How much floor space does a Wiremold AMDTP-4 power pole take up in an open office?
The pole measures 2.3 inches wide, so it drops power into the middle of a floor plate without eating into a workstation footprint or blocking a traffic path. That slim profile is why these get used behind cubicle clusters and in conference rooms where a floor box is not practical.
3) Is the AMDTP-4 tele-power pole a one-person install?
At 14.5 pounds, one electrician can set the AMDTP-4 and hold it plumb while fastening top and bottom. The aluminum body is what keeps the weight down over a 125-inch length, and it also makes the pole easy to reposition when the furniture plan changes.
4) Will a Wiremold AMDTP-4 pole match the other poles already installed in our building?
The AMDTP-4 is finished in silver over an aluminum body. If your existing poles are the silver aluminum type, this one blends with them; if the floor is standing ivory or painted-steel poles, the finish will read differently.
5) Can a tele-power pole carry both power and data, or do I need a separate pole for low voltage?
A tele-power pole like the AMDTP-4 is a single vertical raceway that carries power and communications together from the ceiling plenum down to desk height, so you do not run a second pole for data. That is the difference from a plain power pole, and it is the reason these are specified in open offices where phone, network and receptacles all land at the same workstation.
6) Is an aluminum tele-power pole suitable for a healthcare or education facility corridor area?
The AMDTP-4 is aimed at commercial interiors: open offices, conference rooms, retail and showroom floors, educational buildings and healthcare administrative areas. Aluminum holds up to handling and resists corrosion, which is why it gets used in these high-traffic administrative spaces rather than a painted steel body.
