It takes 6 AWG through 4 AWG grounding electrode conductor. If your bonding jumper is 8 AWG or smaller, or 2 AWG and larger, you need a different clamp range.
2) Is the Blackburn 2-TB UL listed for grounding?
Yes. The 2-TB carries UL file E3060 as a grounding device, which is what an inspector looks for when you bond a water pipe electrode. It is made in the United States.
3) Can the 2-TB ground clamp be used on a buried or direct-earth-contact water pipe?
No. The 2-TB is an iron-bodied clamp with no listing for direct burial or concrete encasement stated, so treat it as an indoor or above-grade water pipe clamp. For a buried electrode connection, use a clamp specifically marked direct burial.
4) Will the Blackburn 2-TB work on galvanized steel water pipe as well as copper?
Yes, the clamp is a mechanical iron water pipe clamp and clamps by size, not by pipe material, so 1/2 to 1 inch copper, galvanized steel, or brass pipe all work. What matters is the outside diameter falling in the 1/2 to 1 inch range and the pipe surface being cleaned to bare metal before you tighten it down.
