1) What is another Grade 1 asylum-function cylindrical lock if the Accentra 5430LN does not fit my door?
The Dexter C1000 Series asylum (F87) is the closest cross-brand equivalent we carry: Grade 1, same asylum/institution/utility function, and it covers 1-3/8 to 2 inch doors, so it reaches thinner doors the 5430LN does not. Going the other way, if you need 2-1/4 inch capacity the Accentra is the one that goes that thick. Arrow's MK33-BD-CS is asylum function as well but it is a Grade 2 ball knob, not a Grade 1 lever.
2) Will the Accentra 5430LN fit a 2-inch thick institutional door?
Yes. The 5430LN adjusts from 1-3/4 inch to 2-1/4 inch door thickness, so a 2 inch door is inside the range with room either side. Note the bottom of that range is 1-3/4 inches, so it is not a fit for older 1-3/8 inch interior doors.
3) What backset does the Accentra 5430LN come with, and can it work on a wider stile or door with a deeper backset?
Standard is a 2-3/4 inch backset, the usual commercial bore spacing. If the prep sits deeper, a 3-3/4 inch or 5 inch extension link can be ordered with the lock. Specify that at order time; it is not something you add later from the box.
4) Will the 5430LN latch into the strike already in my frame?
Standard latchbolt is stainless steel with a 1/2 inch throw, and a 3/4 inch throw is available to order if your frame has a deeper strike pocket or the door is out of plumb. 9) Do I need to specify handing for the Accentra 5430LN Monroe lever lock?

It is a different function. The Hager 2580 with the Withnell lever is a Grade 2 storeroom lock for 1-3/8 inch to 2 inch doors - outside lever always locked, key to enter, inside always free. The Accentra 5430LN Monroe is Grade 1 and keyed on both sides so the inside lever can be locked as well, which is the point of the asylum and institution function. Use the 2580 for supply and utility closets, the 5430LN where both sides must be controlled.
14) Are residential-style leversets like Kwikset or Baldwin a substitute for the Accentra 5430LN?
