1) Does the Yale New Traditions Terra dummy knob come with a latch?
No latch, and no strike prep needed to make it work. The Terra single dummy is a push/pull trim only: one knob on one face, mounted to a round rose, with nothing that retracts. Use it on a door that stays shut with a ball catch, roller catch or magnet, or on the inactive leaf of a pair, or on a closet or pantry door where you just need something to pull on. If the door has to latch when it closes, a dummy is the wrong function and you want a passage set instead.
2) What door thickness does the Yale YR80T Terra knob fit?
1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inches, which covers the standard 1-3/4 inch commercial slab and the 1-3/8 inch interior door found in most houses and apartments. Thicker than 1-3/4 and it is out of range.

For a corridor, a classroom or anything on a facility standard, step up: the Corbin Russwin CK4310 is Grade 1 non-keyed, and the BEST 6K Series single dummy trim is a Grade 2 medium duty dummy if you want the same function in a commercial-grade set.
5) Can I key the Terra knob or add a privacy button later?
No. The Terra dummy is non-keyed and there is no cylinder and no turn button in it, and no way to add one, because the chassis has no working latch to operate. If you need a lock on that opening, buy the function you want up front: Cal-Royal BER20 is a Grade 3 privacy knob for a bed or bath, and Cal-Royal BER00 is a Grade 3 entrance/office knob with a Kwikset keyway. Both list the same 1-3/8 to 1-3/4 inch door thickness range.
6) What is a direct alternative to the Yale YR80T Terra single dummy knob if a different brand is required?
