Metallics SPN114 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size cable or conduit does the Metallics SPN114 clamp hold?
The SPN114 is a 1-1/4 inch neoprene-wrapped cable clamp, so it is sized for 1-1/4 inch cable or conduit runs. Order by trade size to match the run you are strapping.
2) Why use a neoprene-wrapped clamp instead of a plain steel strap?
The neoprene wrap on the SPN114 puts a cushion between the steel clamp and the cable jacket. That matters where the run vibrates or where you do not want the strap biting into insulation. A bare steel one-hole or two-hole strap is the cheaper choice for rigid conduit that does not need the cushion.
3) Is the Metallics SPN114 cable clamp steel or plastic?
Steel body with a neoprene wrap on the cable-bearing surface. It is a metal clamp, not a nylon or plastic strap.
4) What part number do I order for a 1-1/4 inch Metallics cushioned cable clamp?
SPN114 is the manufacturer part number for the 1-1/4 inch neoprene-wrapped steel cable clamp from Metallics. There is one model on it, so the part number is all you need to specify.
