Metallics AKK78 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is the Metallics AKK78 cable clamp made of, and will it work in a damp or corrosive area?
The AKK78 is a nylon C-style adjustable cable clamp. Nylon doesn't rust or corrode the way a steel strap can, so it's the usual pick where a metal clamp would stain or seize, and it also avoids metal-to-cable contact on jacketed runs.
2) Is the Metallics AKK78 a fixed-size clamp or does it adjust to the cable?
It adjusts. The AKK78 is the adjustable C-style version, so the clamp closes onto the cable rather than relying on an exact diameter match the way a rigid one-hole strap does. That makes it useful on mixed runs where cable OD varies slightly from pull to pull.
3) Metallics AKK78 - what part number do I order and is there more than one version?
One model only: Metallics AKK78, the size 1 nylon adjustable C-style cable clamp. There are no finish or size variations to specify, so the MPN alone is the full order identity. If you need a different cable size, you're looking at a different Metallics AKK part number.
