Both ends are 1 inch female NPT threads, so it threads directly onto 1 inch male NPT nipples or adapters. Inlet and outlet are the same size (25 mm metric), so there is no reduction across the strainer.
2) Is the Watts 0379113 strainer lead free for potable water lines?
The body and retainer cover are lead free cast copper silicon alloy, which is the material Watts uses for its LF potable-water line. The LF in the LF777SI series designation is the lead free designation.

A wye body puts the screen pocket at an angle off the run, so the pocket has to point downward on a horizontal line (or downstream on a vertical down-flow line) for debris to collect and drain out through the blowdown. Flow direction also has to follow the arrow on the body, or debris passes straight through instead of being caught.
