Metallics CTTRUV12 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics CTTRUV12 cable tie reusable, or is it a one-time cut-off tie?
The CTTRUV12 is a releasable tie, so the pawl can be disengaged and the tie reopened and reused rather than cut off. That is the one to use where you expect to add or pull conductors from a bundle later, such as temporary runs, panel wiring during rough-in, or any bundle you will revisit. For a permanent bundle that should not be opened without a cutter, use a standard non-releasable tie instead.
2) Can the Metallics CTTRUV12 black cable tie be used outdoors or in direct sunlight?
Yes. The CTTRUV12 is the black UV rated version, which is the one specified for outdoor and sunlight-exposed work: rooftop conduit runs, exterior lighting, site-temporary wiring, and anywhere a natural (white) nylon tie would chalk and go brittle. Keep natural ties for indoor, concealed bundles.
3) What part number do I order for the Metallics 12 inch black releasable cable tie?
Order Metallics CTTRUV12. That designation covers the 12 inch releasable nylon tie in black UV grade, and it is the only model offered under it, so there is no color or length option to specify on the order.
