Metallics DLCT13150 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics DLCT13150 cable tie rated for outdoor use?
It's a black UV-stabilized nylon tie, which is the material spec used for outdoor and sunlight-exposed runs. Black UV nylon resists the sunlight degradation that natural (white) nylon ties suffer from, so it's the right choice for rooftop conduit runs, exterior light pole bases, and anywhere the bundle sees daylight. Indoors it works the same as a standard nylon tie.
2) What does the dual loop design on the DLCT13150 tie do?
A dual loop tie has two separate loops off one head, so you can secure a bundle in one loop and mount or strap it to a rail, rod, or second bundle with the other. Electricians use them to tie cable to strut or a support without a separate clamp. A standard single-loop tie only bundles, it won't do the mount-and-bundle in one piece.
