Metallics CTSUV14 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Are the Metallics CTSUV14 cable ties rated for outdoor use?
Yes. The CTSUV14 is a black UV-stabilized nylon cable tie built for weather-resistant service, so it holds up to sunlight exposure on exterior runs, rooftop conduit, and outdoor equipment where a natural-nylon indoor tie would chalk and crack.
2) Is a black UV nylon tie the right choice for indoor plenum or data runs, or should I use something else?
For exterior and sunlight-exposed work the black UV nylon CTSUV14 is the correct pick. Inside a building where sunlight is not a factor, a standard natural nylon tie does the same mechanical job, and colored or hook-and-loop ties are usually preferred for data bundles that get re-dressed. The UV tie is a one-time cinch, so pick it where weather, not serviceability, drives the choice.
3) Does Metallics CTSUV14 come in any other length or color?
The CTSUV14 is sold as a single configuration: the 14 inch black UV nylon tie. There's no finish or size choice to specify when ordering it, so if you need a shorter or longer tie, that's a different Metallics part number.
