The Phillips recess measures 0.274 inches across with a gaging depth of 0.118 to 0.144 inches, and the slot runs 0.064 to 0.075 inches wide and 0.06 to 0.085 inches deep.

The TS63B is a Type A tapping screw with a gimlet (sharp) point, so it forms its own thread as it drives and is meant for thin sheet metal and similar light materials without tapping. A pilot hole sized to the material is still normal practice in heavier gauge; the point only saves you the tapping step, not the hole. Thread pitch is 10 threads per inch, so it's a coarse spaced thread rather than a machine thread.

Torsional strength on the TS63B is rated 125 lb-in minimum and the screws are case hardened to Rockwell C28 to 38, made from AISI 1016 to 1024 steel. That is a hardened fastener, not a soft commodity screw, so with a #3 bit seated fully the recess holds up. Driving well past seating is what shears a screw at this rating.

The TS63B is zinc plated carbon steel. Zinc plating is an indoor and dry-location finish; it handles incidental moisture but will corrode in sustained wet, exterior, or coastal exposure. For wet locations or exterior panel work, specify stainless steel fasteners instead.
