Metallics 2501KOSGSS – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size knockout does the Metallics 2501KOSGSS seal fit?
It's sized for a 2-1/2 inch knockout opening. The part is a 2-1/2 K-O seal supplied with its gasket, so it closes off an unused 2-1/2 inch knockout in a box, panel, or enclosure rather than plugging conduit.
2) Does the 2501KOSGSS come with a gasket or do I order that separately?
The gasket is included. The 2501KOSGSS is sold as a seal and gasket set, so nothing else is needed to close the 2-1/2 inch knockout.
3) Can I use a 2-1/2 inch K-O seal to plug the end of a conduit?
No. A K-O seal fills an unused punched knockout in an enclosure wall, sealing against the sheet metal with its gasket. To close off a conduit run you need a threaded conduit plug or a bushing/cap matched to the conduit thread, not a knockout seal.
4) Is the Metallics 2501KOSGSS made in the USA?
Yes, the 2-1/2 inch 316 stainless K-O seal and gasket is USA made, which matters on public and institutional jobs carrying domestic sourcing requirements.
