1) Does the Red Dot DAC-7-CG come with a cover and gasket, or do I order those separately?
Cover and gasket are included. The DAC-7-CG ships as a complete assembly: the C-style body, the cover, and the gasket. You do not need to add a separate cover kit to close it up, which is why the catalog designation carries the CG suffix.
2) Will the DAC-7-CG thread onto EMT or PVC conduit?
No. The DAC-7-CG is tapered-thread for rigid metal conduit and IMC only. EMT is not threaded in the field, so it needs a setscrew or compression type body, and PVC needs a solvent weld PVC body. Trying to adapt it requires an EMT-to-threaded coupling at each hub.
3) Can the DAC-7-CG conduit body be used outdoors or in a wet location?
The gasketed cover supplied with the DAC-7-CG is what makes it suitable for damp and wet exterior runs, and the die cast aluminum body resists corrosion better than a plain steel fitting. Mount it so the cover faces where you can get at it, and keep the gasket seated when you reinstall the cover after pulling conductors.
4) Is the Red Dot DAC-7-CG aluminum or steel, and can I use it with galvanized rigid conduit?
It is die cast aluminum. Aluminum bodies are standard practice on galvanized rigid and IMC runs and thread directly onto them, so there is no fit issue. Where you are in a corrosive environment with dissimilar metals or in direct contact with concrete or earth, spec a suitable sealant or a different material family instead.
