Red Dot DALR-7-CG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Red Dot DALR-7-CG come with a cover and gasket, or do I order those separately?
Cover and gasket are included with the DALR-7-CG. You do not need to add a separate cover kit to close it out, which is the usual extra line item on bare conduit bodies.
2) Can I use a 2-1/2 inch aluminum LR body like the DALR-7-CG outdoors?
The gasketed cover supplied with the DALR-7-CG is what seals the opening against weather, and the body is die cast aluminum rather than ferrous, so it is intended for the kind of exterior and damp-location rigid/IMC work Red Dot builds for. Seal the threaded hubs with the appropriate compound as your installation requires.
3) What is the exact manufacturer part number for the Red Dot 2-1/2 inch LR conduit body with cover and gasket?
Red Dot part number DALR-7-CG. The DAL prefix is the die cast aluminum conduit body line, LR is the left outlet configuration, and the CG suffix indicates it ships with the cover and gasket.
