Metallics PCC250 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the Metallics PCC250 a cap for electrical conduit or for plumbing pipe?
It's an electrical item, a 2.5 inch PVC push in pipe cap used on PVC electrical conduit ends. It isn't a pressure-rated plumbing fitting; for a sealed water line you want a solvent-weld or threaded PVC cap instead.
2) Does the Metallics PCC250 cap need glue or cement to install?
No cement needed. The PCC250 is a push in cap, so it seats into the 2.5 inch PVC pipe end by hand. That also means it comes back out, which is why it's commonly used to keep dirt and debris out of stubbed-up conduit during construction rather than as a permanent sealed closure.
3) What part number do I order for a 2-1/2 inch push in PVC conduit cap from Metallics?
Order Metallics PCC250. That is the manufacturer part number for the 2.5 inch PVC push in pipe cap, and it's sold as a single model with no size or finish options to specify.
