Metallics PCC400 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size pipe does the Metallics PCC400 pipe cap fit?
The Metallics PCC400 is a 4 inch PVC pipe cap. It covers the open end of 4 inch PVC, and it is a push-in style cap, so it seats inside the pipe end rather than clamping over the outside.
2) Is the Metallics PCC400 a glued fitting or does it just push in?
No solvent cement or threading involved. The PCC400 is a push-in cap, so it goes into the pipe end by hand and comes back out when you need access. That makes it a cover for an open conduit or pipe stub, not a pressure-rated closure.
3) Can I use a 4 inch PVC push-in cap to cover conduit stub-ups during construction?
That is the normal use. The Metallics PCC400 caps a 4 inch PVC conduit or pipe end to keep debris, water and concrete slurry out while the run sits open, and because it pushes in rather than glues on it can be pulled when you are ready to pull wire.
