The Viega MegaPressG tee 25331 is a reducing tee sized 3/4 inch x 3/4 inch x 1/2 inch, so the run is 3/4 inch on both ends and the branch drops to 1/2 inch. All three ends are press connections (P1 x P2 x P3), not threaded, so each one presses onto the pipe with a Viega press tool and the matching jaw size.
2) Is the MegaPressG tee for gas or for water lines?
MegaPressG is Viega's gas-rated press system for black iron pipe, and the 25331 tee is a MegaPressG fitting in carbon steel. The plain MegaPress line (no G) is the one used on non-gas carbon steel pipe. If you are branching a gas line in black steel pipe, this is the correct family; do not mix MegaPress and MegaPressG sealing elements on the same job.
3) Will a MegaPressG tee work on copper or PEX?
No. The 25331 tee is carbon steel and is made for black iron / carbon steel pipe. For copper you need a copper press fitting (ProPress), and for PEX a PureFlow fitting. Pressing a carbon steel fitting onto copper will not seal correctly.
