Viega 26060 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What is Smart Connect on this Viega MegaPress elbow?
Smart Connect is Viega's unpressed-joint feature: an unpressed connection leaks visibly during pressure testing so the installer can find it before the system is put in service. It's built into the 26060 street elbow, not an add-on.
2) How much room do I need for the 1 inch MegaPress 90 degree street elbow in a tight chase?
The fitting itself measures 1.78 x 4.276 x 3.819 inches and weighs 0.838 lbs. Plan clearance beyond that for the press tool jaw to come around the socket squarely, which is usually the limiting factor in a chase or against a joist, not the fitting body.
3) Is the Viega 26060 made in the USA?
Yes, the 26060 MegaPress street elbow is listed as Made in USA, which matters on public and institutional jobs with domestic sourcing language in the spec.
4) What part number do I order for a 1 inch MegaPress carbon steel 90 street elbow?
Viega part number 26060. One size only, 1 inch by 1 inch, carbon steel.
