Viega 28760 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What kind of connections does the Viega 28760 MegaPressG fitting have?
The 28760 is a P x FPT fitting: one press end and one female pipe thread end. That makes it the transition point between pressed carbon steel pipe and a threaded male connection, so you press one side onto the pipe and thread the other side on. Both sides are 3 inch.
2) Will the Viega 28760 press onto copper or stainless pipe?
No. The 28760 is a carbon steel MegaPressG fitting, so it is made for black iron / carbon steel pipe. Pressing it onto copper or stainless tube is a material mismatch, you would want the copper (ProPress) or stainless press fitting for those lines instead.
3) What size pipe does the Viega 28760 MegaPressG adapter fit?
Three inch on both ends, press side and female threaded side, so it suits a 3 inch carbon steel run with no size change through the fitting.
4) Is Viega MegaPressG carbon steel made in the USA or imported?
The 28760 MegaPressG fitting is made in Germany. Worth knowing up front if you are on a public job with domestic-source requirements in the spec.
