The 54163-TB is sized for 3/0 AWG copper conductor only. It's a copper compression (crimp) lug, so it is not a set-screw mechanical lug and will not accept a range of conductor sizes - one size, one die. For other conductors you need the matching size in the Color Keyed line.

Standard barrel. A standard barrel takes fewer crimps and takes up less length behind the pad, which is what you want in a tight gutter or termination cabinet. Long barrel lugs, like the Burndy HYLUG tin-plated copper terminal lug, add barrel length for more crimps and higher pullout where the installation spec calls for it. If the drawing specifies long barrel, the 54163-TB is not the substitute.

A hydraulic or battery crimper with the Color Keyed die matching the orange 3/0 index, plus the 5/16 inch bolt, nut and washers for the stud connection, which are not supplied with the lug. No set screw or hex key is involved - this is a compression terminal, not a mechanical one.

Use the 54163-TB where a general 3/0 copper, 5/16 inch stud termination is called for.
