B-LINE E30DN – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can I use the E30DN pushbutton in a washdown or outdoor enclosure?
Yes. The E30DN carries a NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 12 and 13 rating, which covers rain and sleet exposure outdoors, hosedown and splashing water, and dust or dripping oil and coolant in an industrial panel. It is not rated for hazardous locations.
2) What voltage does the E30DN illuminated pushbutton light unit run on?
The light unit is a 208 Vac transformer type with an incandescent lamp, so it wires to a 208 volt control circuit without a separate step-down transformer. If your panel runs 120 V control power, this is the wrong voltage variant.
3) Is the E30DN a momentary or maintained pushbutton?
Momentary, actuated at the bottom. Press and it makes, release and it returns, so it suits jog, start, reset and horn silence duty rather than anything that has to stay latched. If you need the button to hold its state, you want a maintained operator instead.
4) Can I put an LED lamp in the B-Line E30DN instead of the incandescent bulb?
Yes. The light unit will also accept an LED lamp, and the specified LED lamp number is 6PSB. That is the usual move for a machine that runs long shifts and where you do not want to pull the panel apart to change bulbs.
5) Does the E30DN come with contact blocks, or do I order those separately?
The E30DN is an operator, meaning the square illuminated single-button head and its light unit. Contact blocks are the separate stacked modules on an E30 device and are selected by the N.O. and N.C. arrangement your control circuit needs, so specify those along with the operator.
6) Is the E30DN a single button or a two-button station?
Single button, square, illuminated. One actuator per 30.5 mm hole. For a start/stop pair you need two operators and two panel holes, or a factory two-button unit.
