B-LINE E30AB – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Is the E30AB a maintained or momentary pushbutton?
Momentary on both buttons, top and bottom. Each button makes contact only while it's held and returns as soon as you release, so it suits start/stop, jog, or forward/reverse control where the circuit is latched elsewhere in the panel. If you need a button that stays in position after you press it, a momentary operator like this one is the wrong choice.
2) Can the B-Line E30AB pushbutton be used outdoors or in a washdown area?
It carries NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 12 and 13 ratings. That covers outdoor rain and sleet exposure (3 and 3R), hosedown and splashing water (4), and dust, falling dirt and oil or coolant seepage (12 and 13). The enclosure it's mounted in has to carry the same rating for the assembly to hold it.
3) Do the contact blocks come with the B-Line E30AB, or do I order those separately?
The E30AB is the operator only, the square two-button actuator head that mounts through the panel. Contact blocks, legend plates and any mounting accessories are separate items in the E30 series and have to be specified for the circuit you're switching (NO, NC, or a combination) and ordered along with it.
4) Does the E30AB pushbutton light up?
No. The E30AB is a non-illuminated two-button operator, so there is no lamp or LED module in the actuator and no separate supply to run to it. If the panel needs an indicating button, you need an illuminated operator instead.
5) Can I mix the E30AB with other 30.5 mm pushbuttons already in my panel?
Yes, as long as those existing devices use the same 30.5 mm cutout. The E30AB is part of the E30 family, so standardizing a fleet of panels on E30 keeps one hole size, one set of contact blocks and one spares list across the plant. Panels drilled for 22 mm devices won't take it without enlarging the hole.
