B-LINE E30EG – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can the E30EG two-button operator be used for a forward/reverse or start/stop motor control?
Yes. The E30EG is a two button operator with momentary action and mechanical interlock between the top and bottom buttons, so only one button can be actuated at a time. That interlock is exactly what you want for forward/reverse or open/close duty where energizing both directions at once would be a problem.
2) Is the E30EG pushbutton rated for a washdown or outdoor enclosure?
Performance rating on the E30EG is NEMA 3, 3R, 4, 12 and 13, which covers rain and sleet outdoors, hosedown/watertight, and dust and oil in industrial interiors. Mounted properly in an enclosure of matching rating, it suits wet and dirty environments as well as clean panel work.
3) What voltage is the E30EG illuminated pushbutton light unit, and can I run LED lamps in it?
The light unit is 120 Vac, incandescent with transformer. It will also accept an LED lamp if you would rather not deal with incandescent lamp replacement, with lamp reference 6PSB. Do not feed it any other control voltage without changing the light unit.
4) Is the E30EG a maintained pushbutton or does it spring back?
Momentary. Both buttons spring back when released, so the E30EG is for jog, start/stop, or open/close duty where a control relay or PLC holds the state. If you need a button that stays in once pressed, a momentary interlocked operator is the wrong choice and you want a maintained or push-pull operator from the same 30.5 mm family instead.
5) Does the E30EG come with contact blocks, or do I have to order those separately?
The E30EG is the operator itself: the square multifunction two button unit with the illuminated light unit. Contact blocks, legend plates and the enclosure are separate E30 series components you add to build the station to your circuit. Count your normally open and normally closed contacts needed per button before you order.
