Mustee 732WHT – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Does the Mustee 732WHT go over existing tile or drywall, or does it need bare studs?
It's a direct-to-stud surround, so the walls get stripped back to the framing and the panels nail or screw to the studs with the flanges. If you're refacing over existing finished walls, you want a glue-up or over-tile panel kit instead, not this one.
2) Is the Mustee 732WHT a shower base or just the walls?
Walls only. The 732WHT is the DURAWALL surround, three fiberglass panels in white that enclose a 32 inch square shower. The receptor or pan is a separate purchase, as is the valve, trim, and drain.
3) How many pieces does the Mustee 732WHT DURAWALL come in, and can one person carry it up a stairwell?
It ships as a 3-piece surround, back wall plus two side walls. That matters for multi-family and hotel work where a one-piece unit will not make it through a door or around a stair landing; three separate fiberglass panels go in through a standard opening.
4) Do I need to buy separate shower shelves or a caddy with the Mustee 732WHT?
No. Three shelves are molded into the panels, so there's nothing to hang, caulk, or replace later. For rental and dorm turnovers that's one less item tenants can break off the wall.
5) What color and material is the Mustee 732WHT surround, and will it match other white fixtures in a unit?
White fiberglass throughout. It's the standard plumbing white used across Mustee's DURAWALL line, so it reads consistent next to a white receptor and white trim when you're standardizing bathrooms across a property.
