Allied Tube & Conduit CC75RKON – Frequently Asked Questions
1) Can this compression connector be used in a concrete pour?
Yes. The CC75RKON is rated for concrete usage, so it can be used where the raceway is encased in concrete. That's the reason for the heavy steel wall construction rather than a light die cast body.
2) Is a compression connector or a set screw connector the right choice for my EMT run?
Compression fittings like the 3/4 inch CC75RKON tighten a ring onto the tubing, which is what you want in damp or concrete applications and anywhere the connection needs to be tighter than a set screw gives you. Set screw connectors are the cheaper choice for dry indoor work only. Since the CC75RKON is rated for concrete usage, it covers the harder application.
3) What manufacturer part number do I order for the Allied 3/4 inch steel compression connector?
Order Allied Tube & Conduit (Atkore) part CC75RKON. That's the 3/4 inch compression connector, steel bodied and zinc plated.
4) Will the CC75RKON corrode in a damp mechanical room or garage?
The body is steel with a zinc plating applied to resist corrosion, which is the standard finish for EMT fittings in interior and concrete applications. For continuously wet or corrosive exterior environments you'd be looking at a different material class entirely.
5) Do I need a separate locknut to land this connector in a box?
Compression connectors terminate into a knockout and are secured with a locknut on the inside of the enclosure, so plan on having the correct 3/4 inch locknut at each box termination along with the CC75RKON itself.
