1) Does the Red Dot DALR-8-CG LR conduit body come with a cover and gasket, or do I order those separately?
Cover and gasket are included with the DALR-8-CG. It ships as an LR conduit body with cover and gasket together, so nothing extra is needed to close up the body once it is installed.
2) Will a Red Dot DALR-8-CG work on EMT, or is it only for rigid conduit?
This is a threaded Series A body for rigid and IMC conduit. It is not an EMT fitting. If the run is EMT, you need a set screw or compression type conduit body instead; using this one would require threaded rigid or IMC ends.
3) Is the Red Dot DALR-8-CG metal or plastic?
Die cast aluminum body. That keeps it light on a rigid or IMC run and avoids the rust problems of ferrous bodies, but on a run of galvanized steel rigid in a wet or corrosive location you should account for dissimilar metal contact at the threads.
4) Can an LR conduit body with a gasketed cover be used outdoors as a pull point?
The DALR-8-CG is supplied with a gasket under the cover, which is what you want for an exposed or damp outdoor pull point rather than a bare cover body. It still has to be installed on threaded rigid or IMC conduit for the joints to hold out water.
5) How is the Red Dot DALR-8-CG packaged for a job order?
It is packed 3 to an industrial pack, so quantities come in multiples of three rather than as loose singles. Worth knowing when you are counting bodies for a run.
