1) Will the 3M 8511 N95 protect against solvent fumes or paint vapors?
No. The 8511 is a particulate-only respirator. It carries no organic vapor reduction and no acid gas reduction, so it does nothing for solvent fumes, paint vapors, or chemical gases. It filters at least 95% of certain non-oil based airborne particles like dust. For vapors you need a cartridge-style respirator, not this cup mask.
