It drives four F32T8 lamps, and it can also be wired to run three. That flexibility matters on a retrofit where one fixture in a run has a lamp position deleted or a broken socket you're abandoning: same ballast covers both the 4-lamp and 3-lamp troffers, so you aren't buying two part numbers for one building.

No. This is a non-dimming electronic T8 ballast with no wireless control capability, so it runs the lamps at full output only. Put it on a switched circuit or a simple on/off occupancy sensor. If the spec on the job calls for daylight harvesting or step dimming, you need a dimming ballast or an LED driver instead, not this one.
