1) Can I install a Viega PureFlow crimp angle stop directly on PEX tubing?
Yes. The inlet is a PureFlow crimp end, so it goes straight onto 1/2 inch PEX with a crimp ring and the matching crimp tool, no adapter and no sweating. That is the point of the crimp end: the stub-out can be PEX rather than copper.
2) Is the Viega 46025 stop valve lead free for potable water?
It is a Zero Lead chrome-plated brass angle stop, which is the low-lead brass specified for potable drinking water lines under current plumbing rules. Body and plating are brass with chrome, so it holds up as an exposed finished-wall fixture stop.
3) Angle stop or straight stop, which do I need under a lavatory?
Use an angle stop like the Viega 46025 when the supply comes out of the wall and the riser has to turn up to the fixture. That is the normal lavatory and toilet condition. If the supply comes up out of the floor and the riser continues straight on, a straight stop is the right part instead. The 46025 is the angled version.
4) Do I need any extra fittings to install this PureFlow stop valve?
On the inlet side you need a PureFlow crimp ring and the crimp tool, nothing else, since the valve crimps straight onto 1/2 inch PEX. On the outlet you supply the 1/4 inch riser and its nut and ferrule. The valve itself is just the stop.
5) How much clearance do I need behind a toilet for the Viega 46025 angle stop?
