Metallics SPN516 – Frequently Asked Questions
1) What size cable or conduit does the Metallics SPN516 clamp hold?
The SPN516 is a 5/16 inch cable clamp, so it is sized to hold a run with a 5/16 inch outside diameter. Order by the measured OD of the cable, not by the conductor gauge.
2) Is the Metallics SPN516 cable clamp cushioned, or does it grip bare metal on the cable?
It is a neoprene-wrapped clamp, so the steel band is lined with neoprene where it contacts the cable. That cushion is what keeps the clamp from chafing jacket or insulation on a run that vibrates or moves.
3) What is the Metallics part number for a 5/16 inch neoprene-lined steel cable clamp?
SPN516 is the Metallics designation for the 5/16 inch neoprene-wrapped steel cable clamp. Use that number when ordering so you do not end up with the unlined steel version.
