Progress Lighting P2608-30 – Frequently Asked Questions

1) Will the Progress Lighting P2608-30 downrod fit any brand of ceiling fan?
The P2608-30 is specified for use with any Progress Lighting ceiling fan. It is a 3/4 inch diameter rod, which is the common commercial downrod size, but Progress only states compatibility within its own fan line. If you're hanging another manufacturer's fan, match the rod to that fan's canopy and coupling rather than assuming this one drops in.
2) How much fan weight will a 60 inch AirPro downrod carry?
Maximum load is 35 lb. That covers most residential and light commercial fans, but check the weight of the fan motor assembly plus any light kit before you hang it. The rod itself weighs 5 lb, which is on top of the fan load for your outlet box and support calculation.
3) Does the downrod come with the mounting bracket or outlet box hardware?
No. The P2608-30 ships as the rod only. Mounting for the outlet box is not included, and the rod is not prewired, so you reuse the fan's canopy, hanger ball and bracket and pull your own conductors through. Order the rod as each, in single unit multiples.
4) Is there a grounding provision on this Progress fan downrod?
The rod comes with pre-drilled holes so the ground can be terminated properly at the rod rather than improvised on site. Since the rod is not prewired, you run the fan leads and ground through it during install.
5) What finish is the 60 inch AirPro downrod and will it match a white fan?
It is finished in white, matching standard white AirPro fan canopies and motor housings. If the fan you're hanging is bronze, nickel or black, this rod will stand out against it, so order the rod in the fan's finish instead.
6) Does this Progress downrod carry a Proposition 65 warning?
Yes, a Proposition 65 warning is required for this item, and Proposition 65 is the listed certification agency on it. Institutional and California buyers should account for that in submittals. Country of origin is China.
